Real Estate Practice
For over thirty (30)
years, the Firm has served as counsel to buyers
and sellers in residential real estate
transactions. The Firm currently serves as
examining counsel for Bradt-Luciani Real
Property Services. We previously served in such
capacity for First American Title Insurance
Corporation of New York, Public Abstract and
Salina Abstract. Since 1983, the Firm has served
as counsel to Heritage Homes, an experienced
homebuilder and land developer in the Central
New York area. The Firm continues to represent
Heritage Homes in all of its businesses and
conducts all of its residential real estate
closings, which number 40 to 50 per year.
The Firm has over three decades of civil
litigation experience in the area of residential
and commercial real estate law. Having actually
litigated many of the issues that arise in real
estate transactions, our Firm is well versed in
the legalities behind the typical closing
documents which enables us to efficiently
address and resolve any issues that may arise in
a particular transaction, while still protecting
our client’s interest and closing the
transaction in a timely fashion.
In addition
to its residential real estate practice, the
firm regularly assists business owners and
developers on zoning matters and
Municipal Law issues associated with real
estate development projects.
Syracuse Real Estate
As a lifetime Board member of the Central New
York Homebuilder’s Association, Mr. D'Arrigo was
solely responsible for the drafting of nearly
all of the association's standard contracts,
including the Residential Purchase and
Construction Contract and Limited Warranty,
widely used throughout the Central New York area
by the association’s member builders. Mr.
D'Arrigo also holds a degree in Engineering and
brings a wealth of practical construction and
design experience to the Firm's traditional
residential real estate practice.
Mr. Cote regularly practices on residential
real estate transactions, as well as commercial
land development and real estate matters. Prior
to joining the firm, Mr. Cote worked for seven
years as a transactional attorney in the
municipal finance industry. Mr. Cote presently
handles all of the firm’s residential real
estate closings.
Our Real Estate Law Staff
Joann F. Packard is the Firm’s Real Estate
Paralegal with over twenty-five (25) years of
experience with the Firm in real estate
closings. Working exclusively in real estate
matters, Ms. Packard regularly works with
attorneys and real estate professionals
throughout the area and is widely recognized
throughout the community as an experienced real
estate professional. Ms. Packard works closely
with Mr. D’Arrigo and Mr. Cote in all aspects of
real estate transactions and regularly assists
them in the documentation and preparation of
residential closings.
Mary Ellen Barth is the Firm’s Administrative
Assistant with over fifteen (15) years of
experience with the Firm. Ms. Barth regularly
prepares documents under the supervision of the
Firm’s attorneys and further assists the
attorneys and Ms. Packard in the Firm’s
residential real estate practice.
